About Us    Wayside Cottage is a picturesque detached family home set within a 1/3 of an acre garden, which guests may use if they wish. The garden has many mature trees and is alongside a stream at one end and backing onto open fields at the other. We are situated at the end of a well-kept no through way country lane and are in a very private setting. There are only 8 houses in Frogholt, one of which is the Manor House next door and another opposite is the oldest thatched cottage in Kent.

Wayside Cottage is the newest property, built in the 1950s, a wonderful place to stay and is open all year except for Christmas. It offers high quality B&B in its newly built bedrooms conversion, is well equipped and comfortable. We offer a friendly service and aim to make all our visitors' stay a happy one. There is ample room on the drive for off-road parking and a garage for overnight storage of bikes. There are many cycle routes in this area of Kent. For walkers we have drying facilities and, even better, the Pilgrims' Way footpath is on our doorstep.

Situated, as we are just a few minutes from the Channel Tunnel we are ideally sited for overnight stops to and from the continent, but also for those long or short stays. We can equally offer that country break or vacation by the sea in South East England and ideal for families, friends or the lone traveller who require a quality B&B.

Only 5 minutes away are the historic towns of Folkestone and Hythe. Folkestone has its old harbour, cobbled old high street, The Leas and Lower Leas Coastal Park, with an open-air auditorium and, for some fossil collecting, there is the Warren. Hythe has a blue flag beach award, sea fishing, wind surfing and sea sports. Both offer shops, pubs, restaurants, leisure centres and swimming pools and parks. Our B&B is just 2 minutes away from the M20 with its excellent links to London, 2 minutes from the Channel Tunnel and 20 minutes from the Ashford International train station.

Frogholt is in the Garden of England on the Kent Garden Coast, the Gateway to Europe, within 20 minutes drive of the port of Dover. It is also 25 minutes drive from the Cathedral City of Canterbury and less than 5 minutes from Folkestone and Hythe.

Whatever your reason for visiting the SE of England and choosing to stay at Wayside Cottage we will endeavour to make your stay a comfortable and memorable one. With the choice of breakfasts, full English Breakfast or Continental we will set you up for the day, whatever that may be.
